Friday 18th to Sunday 20th June at Banbury on the Oxford Canal. This was the first rally orgainsed by Steve Burt. Many thanks to Steve, also to Tony Hirst and David Phillips who supervised the moorings of the 40 register boats. Also thanks to Steve Powell of British Waterways for assistance, and to Ray Treadwell operator of Sovereign Wharf. The boats were moored on the towpath moorings from above bridge 164 northwards to the Spiceball Park footbridge. Thanks also to other boaters mooring in Banbury that weekend for being restricted to the visitor moorings below the lock.
With the 40 boats came over 100 human crew members, and an assortment of pets. All enjoyed the weekend and the variety of rally events and the facilities provided by BW, Cherwell District Council and the town of Banbury. Several new members were attending their first RNR rally by boat.
